I took this picture with a lens I dropped during the summer...
Since I was going to be shooting in really bright sunlight that day, I had
a UV filter on the lens, and that got broken / jammed onto the barrel of
the XSi kit 18 - 55mm lens.
I finally got around to taking it in for an estimate, and was told it
would be cheaper to get a new one, since both the IS and autofocus
mechanisms are totaled...
However, I'm always interested in what I can do with what I've got, so I
took the damaged lens down to the arena and tried to get some more hockey
pics...
For some reason, I can't seem to get the glass clean. I've been told it
looks like something is smearing portions of the surface...
Also, I think the drop turned the lens into a bit of a tilt / shift
model... :)
Just wondering how much of the bad stuff shows up in the image...
That's an excellent photo, Dudley, well done!size image)

You got almost half of the goal scorer on the left, and his expression of
triumph is clear:-) In the middle, is the goal post, and the keeper. The
photo is a bit tilted, but it's making it more punchy:-)
than the crap that the P&S Troll keeps on boring us with. ;^)
